Joseph House - Children
Minenhle
Minenhle is a wonderful example of how the Focus on iThemba can uplift children and make a significant positive impact in lives. He has benefited from the quality care iThemba is renowned for and now feels safe and loved. He is often seen riding his blue bicycle around his neighborhood. He is a confident, affectionate little boy with an endearing smile. He has a wonderful imagination and is often heard talking about his favourite comic characters, Batman and Spiderman, and displays the characters on his t-shirts. He also enjoys baring his feet on grass. He loves chocolate and if his Mom would allow, he would pack a slab of chocolate in his lunch box everyday. This delightful child is in Grade 4 at Forest View Primary and is progressing well. He is articulate with an excellent command of both isiZulu and English.
Princess

Princess has a delightful personality and endears herself to all who meet her. She is very helpful assisting around her house, organized in time management with studies, very studious and creative. This year she is excited to start senior school at Waterfall College in Grade 8. At school she has the opportunity to allow her creativity to shine and continual growth in drama and dance. In her studies, she hungers for knowledge and thirsts to do her best.

Brian

Today the key words you can use to describe Brian are: pleasant, happy and energetic. He is currently attending Hillcrest High School where he is in Grade 11 and thriving under the guidance of his teachers. He can often be found riding his bike, roller blading and playing soccer. He has an incredibly caring and loving nature. He hopes to one day become an electrical engineer. Brian has responded so well to his family routines, strong belief systems and celebrations and he now understands that Joseph House is his home and where he belongs.  We trust he will have the ability to change his world and to bring hope to others and his own family one day.

Christopher

Christopher and his sisters were the first iThembaKids. Their story as a family unit is truly inspiring as all three have achieved new heights since being embraced by iThemba. Christopher’s life did a complete turn when he and his sisters were offered sanctuary at iThemba. Within a nurturing environment of a beautiful home, healthy meals, care and opportunity Christopher blossomed. He was enrolled at Hillcrest Christian Academy in 2006 and in 2008 he was selected as Deputy Head of Cedar House – a noteworthy achievement. His academic talent, confidence and likeable nature shone through and the iThemba team pursued the avenue of a high school education at top independent senior school Kearsney College. It was an exceptionally proud moment for his family and friends when he was awarded a scholarship to the school in 2009. His first day was a significant moment - wearing his Kearsney blazer he represented hope and the power of a child who overcame adversity. This year he entered Grade 11. He is a keen soccer player and hopes to become a medical doctor in the future.

Nicole

Nicole is confident, warm and outgoing. She matriculated in 2011. She is passionate about hockey, music, fashion, art and drama. She is extremely creative and loves interacting with and meeting new people.
